- Welcome to this fourth edition of "Live From Home."
I'm John Floridis.
We begin the video from Kalispel guitarist and songwriter Mike Murray, born and raised here in Montana, Mike has a voice that is honest, and embodies a classic folk stor His music carries a message of comradery and empathy while drawing inspiration from his adventurous life experi The tales are all his own, but somehow the way he tells them, we can all find ourselves in his words.
From his new album, "We are like Warriors," here's Mike Murray and "The Trouble of the Trail."

Kelly's been a part of the Montana music scene, both in Polson and in Missoula.
She first came to a lot of folks' attention with her band Gladys Friday.
But for this project, she submitted her first recording of one of her own tunes.

Charlotte holds a master's degree in piano performance from the University of British C and enjoys playing many styles of music from classical and jazz to classic country and She's worked extensively across various art forms collaborating and performing with actors, ballet and tap dancers, choirs, big bands, and more.
Charlotte performs "Impromptu in A flat major Opus 29, Number one by Frederic Chopin."
(lively piano music) My introduction to Shawn White G and Brittney Hunter was during a terrific performance online during this year's Martin Luther King day celebration out of Missoula, put on by Empower Montana.
An event they've been a part of for some time.
Shawn frequently is involved wit that assist, build and support community such as a recent day of recognition f and murdered indigenous women.
Shawn is from the Blackfeet nati and Brittany is Hopi and Hualapa The song they have submitted for us is "The Honor Victory Son Here's Shawn White grass and Brittney Hunter.
(gentle music) (singing in foreign language) Livingston, Montana's John Lowell has been writing, singing, playing, recording and around Montana and the Western United States for over 40 years.
In addition to touring and teaching in Canada, Europe and the UK.
Public radio fans might remember his performance with Ben Winship under the name Growling Old Men for a Prairie Home Companion episode a few years back.
John gave himself a challenge to write a song entirely in his head before ever laying a hand on his guitar.

At the junction of sparse folk, pop and cosmic country, you'll find Junior helmed by two and complimentary songwriters Hermina and Caroline.
The song "Hi" was originally rec on Hermina's album, Hot Gray.

He's a very versatile musician who plays with a wide variety of groups and bands in the area.

Maren has a doctorate in ethnomu So maybe it's not too surprising that the two musicians from two different hemispheres found one another and named their collaboration, just that, Hemispheres.
Helena's David Casey joins the d for the piece they submitted for this program, "Clearwater."
(upbeat music) - I first met Livingston, Montana-based songwriter Sean Devine in the mid 1990s when he was featured at the Mammoth Bakery showcase in Missoula.
And I later interviewed him for a musician spotlight for Montana Public Radio.
He's continued to perform across the state as well as nationally and released several recordings along the way including a new album scheduled out this summer of 2021.

The current quartet includes violinists, Mary Papoulis Megan Karls, and violist Alyssa as well as cellist Thad Suits, they're performing "Two Fugues" from the Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach.

(upbeat music) (gentle music) - Billings-based saxophonist and Scott Jeppesen just recently came to my attention.
And for this program, he's share with us the song "Hanging Garden He's an assistant professor of m at Montana State University, Billings teaching a number of subjects including the school's jazz combo.
He's collaborated with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau and Nancy Wilson among others.

(upbeat music) - Our final video is, I think it's safe to say is unlike any of the videos we featured so far on this serie Christian Parrish Takes the Gun, known professionally as Supaman is an Apsáalooke rapper and fanc who was born in Seattle, Washing and grew up in Crow Agency in Mo He has dedicated his life to emp and spreading a message of hope, pride and resilience through his original art form and has won numerous awards including the respected NAMA awa for Native American musicians and their work.
