There is a history of violence at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility
The fallout from a violent night at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women continues to spread. A grand jury on Tuesday indicted 14 corrections officers in connection with actions that occurred in the early hours of Jan. 12, 2021. On that date, inmates were forcibly removed from their cells, some were beaten and two were severely injured, according to the state attorney general's office.
