As Secretary of State, what improvements would you make, if any, to ensure safe, secure, and adequately-staffed elections for Montana?

- I believe Montana does have safe and secure elections.

And as Secretary of State, I will continue keeping our elections secure.

I believe every Montana resident should have a right to vote.

Even a prior convicted felon should have his full voting rights restored.

I oppose voter ID requirements and new REAL ID.

Both are unconstitutional and will infringe on religious groups, like the Amish, Mennonites, and Anabaptist faith who don't believe in photos.

- First, I need to point out that we absolutely do have safe and secure elections in Montana.

Montana runs some of the safest and most secure elections in the nation, and by extension, the world, largely thanks to the work of our county clerk and recorders and election deputies.

The issue that we've run into in Montana is that we've lost credibility due to malfeasance on behalf of the Secretary of State's Office, whether it's sending out inaccurate information, misleading information in prior elections.

We absolutely do have safe and secure elections, and we have great laws in place to protect those elections.

I will continue to make sure that those are enforced, and I will continue to support our clerk and recorders and election deputies.
